About Hawk Creek Vineyard

Hawk Creek vineyard is located in California at the southern end of the Fair Play American Viticulture Area. The vineyard was established in 1999 along Cedar Creek outside of the abandoned mining town of Coyoteville and a once thriving Pony Express route. We are at 2100 to 2300 feet with a variety of microclimates suitable for ultra-premium varietals. The site is situated on Josephine soil with superb drainage and water retention. Drip irrigation and frost protection are a must for Hawk Creek and routinely utilized. The vineyard basks in warm sunlight to be cooled by afternoon falling foothill temperatures and mountain breezes. This allows a longer growing season then most areas in the foothills with development of full flavors and color intensity. A definite stop on the vineyard trail by any connoisseur of fine wine is a must. By appointment only.

We grow over 10 varietals!
